The Tracer All-in-One unit contains the most compact integrated 12.1 inch all-in-one unit on the market today. This rugged computer was designed from its inception to meet the needs of public safety professionals and the environments they face every day. The Tracer utilizes the Intel® Core2 Duo™ mobile processor to provide you with the performance you need.

The display is enhanced for readability in bright conditions encountered inside vehicles. Even with a touch screen (standard on the Tracer), the display is daylight readable. The LCD display and front panel LEDs are fully dimmable for night-time viewing or may be switched completely off for a covert approach to a scene, using convenient front panel controls.

Our sealed case design utilizes heat pipes for heat dissipation eliminating the need for noisy and potentially unreliable cooling fans. A thermal protection feature initiates an orderly shutdown when the computer is left on in an un-air conditioned vehicle and subjected to a high sun load. The Tracer`s hard disk drive is shock mounted for rugged use. Extreme low temperatures are handled by an optional severe-duty hard disk drive.

The Tracer is equipped with a high resolution SXGA LCD display and Intel GMA X3100 integrated graphics with up to 384MB of shared video memory to support the latest mobile police software and allow smooth playback of videos. The Tracer unit also contains a DVI (Digital Visual Interface) port allowing for another monitor to be connected. This allows for complete dual-screen functionality in the back of an ambulance or inside a command vehicle without the purchase of a second computer.

Other options include larger hard drives, a severe-duty hard disk drive with improved shock/vibration/temperature specifications (hard drive can operate down to -20C), internal battery, Bluetooth, upgraded system memory (up to 2GB total) and internal mini PCI options (802.11a/b/g/n), tilt mechanism for Tracer keyboard. Removable Screen protectors are also available.

The complete Tracer system (which includes Tracer computer, keyboard and mount) includes a unique keyboard designed specifically for in-vehicle mobile computing applications. The Tracer keyboard is backlit (red LEDs) for nighttime use, and like the Tracer, the keyboard is also easily dimmable and the backlighting can also be turned completely off.

The integrated steering wheel mount is one of the most unique features of the Tracer system and has been patented by Datalux. The keyboard can be easily removed from the mount with one hand using the clip-on mount, and can be mounted on the steering wheel using the steering wheel mount. This provides a stable platform for typing which avoids the twisting and turning required to use most other vehicle mounted computers, preventing back strain for the user. The keyboard can also be quickly removed and replaced on the mount.
