Customer: Specialty Printing, located in East Windsor CT, makes custom printed labels for various industries.
Problem: They were leasing a T1 line from their main building to their warehouse located about a third of a mile away. The warehouse staff relied on this T1 connection for their phone system and data connection to their servers at the main location. This connection would intermittently “go down” several times during the day impacting the phone and data traffic as well as having to initiate a reboot of the system.
Corrective action: After listening to the customer’s needs we determined that a PTP500 Lite would cover the current bandwidth needs of the customer with the ability to upgrade to a higher bandwidth as their needs increased. A site survey revealed that a viable link could be established even though there were some trees in the path. This is one of the characteristics that the Motorola PTP line distinguishes itself from the competitors. The customer has been working with 100% uptime since the installation of the Motorola PTP500.
